Look what I found

This was on my desk when I came back from meeting today. Obviously I had missed out the farewell cake so my thoughtful college, who knows that I love sweets, saved a piece for me haha.

I even got a rose =)

34 Runway - A restaurant for aircraft fans

While in Zürich, we visited a theme restaurant call 34 Runway. It was build to mimic taking a flight.
Instead of showing you the table, the "waiter" would check you in for a flight and ours was to Teheran.

In the middle of the restaurant there was an old Russian airplane, flew and installed here years ago.
The decorations are in the same theme with tables that looks like airplanes and real passenger seats.
The name of the foods and drinks are also in the similar manner. I started with a Sky Walker as aperitif. Then the flight attendance came to offer us a selection of liquids to go with the food.

For entree, Salmon carpaccio with Chardonney

Main is grilled Cawlet with red wine

Dessert is Mango, lime and raspberry sorbet on white chocolate with Green Tea

Oh and the inside the airplane is a smoking lounch with furnitures arranged as in a private Jet. It's also possible to visit the cockpit. It was quite a different restaurant experience for me. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice. You can find the restaurant here: www.runway34.ch

"Two room for one please!"

I believed that the one who book my hotel must have said that coz this is what I got.

Room nr1 and room nr 2

The beds are adjusted able with remote controlls

With shower and washings in the middle of the hall right when you enter (>_<)

I quite like the view over Zurich airport. You can sit and watch airplanes land and take off.

Deadly tired

Been travelling most of the day, without food for 9 hours and now that I finally filled my stomach with some fine italien food I feel deadly tired.
As I came to hotel I nearly forgot my wallet in the taxi. The driver was about to leave when I jumped infront and stoped the lady driver. Then I nearly forgot my laptops at the front desk. I got all the way up to my floor and had a feeling that something was missing.
They've put me in a big family "room" with two bedrooms each have kingsize beds. It's just fair that I should sleep tight tonight.
Good night, good fight.

Why we believed in fairy tales and why we don't

I remember when I was young how I loved fairy tales. So much that I finished off all fairy tale books I could find in the school library. Fairy tales takes you to differents worlds. There was no problem picturing those worlds in front of me and believing that they could exist, somewhere far far away. That's possible because I haven't seen much of the world.

As an adult getting swept away by fairy tales is a bit harder since we know that scarecrows can't talk, people can't fly on their own and kissing frogs won't turn them into princes. We know this without any proof needed because of all the logics, rules and experiences we atain through all the years.
It's a pity because to be able to believe and dream is a fantastic feature and a very easy way to gain enery to move on.

Luckily I'm not the only one who think this way. That's why there's so many fairy tales for adults around us. Of course they can't contain fairies, unicorns, trolls or any characters we know that doesn't exists. Those are replaced by fanatasy characters who we try our best to hope and believe we might run into them around the corner. Like that perfect guy who have it all - looks, charm and wealth, who just happens to fall for you and you only. Although we know that he really doesn't exist we'll still get pulled into that amazing story believing that it could happen and let ourself swept away into that wonderful world.

"You're Beautiful" is one of those fairy tales - so realistic but still a fantasy.

Home made

According to my mom, I can't cook.
Cooking is not something I'd put under "interests".
But from time to time I DO enjoy cooking. When with friends and most importantly - when I'm not alone. I seldom invest time in cooking when I'm on my own. I just want it to be fast and simple.

This weekend I got invited to a friends' place to make sushi - one of my favorite dishes. Of course of all fishes, salmon is my all time favorite.

After observing how to do it I have to try myself and this is the result. I don't think it was meant to be a heart shape, it just turn out that way =)

The sashimi and nigiri pieces are made by someone else.

BTW last weekend we made dumplings. They were really tasty but took us several hours to finish.

J'adore Pinocchio!

A long long time ago I accidently found this track somewhere when hunting for new music.

I absolutely adore the music of this DJ Pinocchio although I have no idea of who he or she is.
There's not much on youtube either or on the net. Luckily spotify got a wider selection.
One more reason for me to get Spotify Premium. =)

Inception vs Paprika

What is real and what is dream? I'm actually sleeping right now coz it's 04:37 am. Tomorrow I'll wake up.

Several years ago I watched a japanese anime movie which I liked very much. The title is "Paprika" made in 2006.

This movie is quite philosophical. It makes you see in another perspective. When am I awake? What if I like my dream world better? Can I turn it around and make it my real world? Am I awake now or am I actually sleeping?

Recently a movie with the same "concept" came up. It's call "Inception". Looking at the trailer it seems like the american "borrowed" the idea from Paprika. If so I really should watch it.

Do you agree?

Water and Mountains a.k.a. Geirangerfjord

Heard so much about it and still I haven't set my foot there, until last weekend when I had some visitors. Driving to Hellesylt for the ferry there's plenty of spots for picture takings and here's one.

There were loads of tourists there, mostly from Denmark and The Netherlands judging by the register plates of their cars and caravans.

Well on board the ferry it was quite chilly and we're in July! I really should've wear boots instead of sneakers.
The ride took about an hour and we arrived at Geiranger. Luckily it didn't rain.
