Waiting for luggages
Jeans does shrink =)
Got these and another pair from Gmarket a couple blog post ago. After some high temperature run in the laundry and dryer, they are now almost perfect size.
Do you speak English?
Let me show you the standard replies from Gmarket customer service center.
It doesn't matter if you are writing about getting wrong, defect or missing items.
First you will receive this message asking for photos as evidence, even though you've included the links to the photos with all the order and item details in the same message / inquiry they've replying to. I've included a photo on the domestic EMS delivery note and another photo on the item I've received and still this reply.
Then I re-pasted the photo links and send them a new message / inquiry because it's not possible to reply to the email address they sent out from. Then I received this second standard reply.
The thing is, this second missing item has nothing to do with the seller. It was the staff at the Gmarket centre who forgot to pack or include it in my international EMS box! Because according to the order status, Gmarket has received it from the seller.
So now I'll have to send them a third inquiry after those 5 days. Gmarket, please hire some staff who speaks or at least understand English better than a three year old.
The annual frustration
Last year I went through the same thing at this time of the year. It doesn't matter that I've done it before. This is something that can easily get wrong.
To work in Norway a tax card is needed. A tax card is a piece of paper from the Tax office showing how much of your hard earned money they're going to take from you. You will end up with half of your monthly salary if your employer don't receive this piece of paper from you.
So unless you're filthy rich or manage to get a good deal with your employer, this annual pain is something you have to go through.
Here is some lessons learned:
1. To avoid waiting for hours, turn up early at the Tax office. With early, I mean be there when they open the doors in the morning.
2. Don't forget to bring the documents - passport, job contract and whatever else you think they might ask for. The more the merrier because you don't want to re-do the queuing.
3. Prepare to fill in another copy of the form or re-do it. It's so easy to get it wrong.
4. It'll take weeks before you receive the tax card in your mailbox so don't wait too long with your Tax office visit.

Let's D-D-R!
It's been ages since I play and I kind of miss it when I've recently found this favorite dance song of mine.
But now it seems that parapara dance is more in.
My lucky day
Yesterday was the day I travelled back to Bergen. I arrived to Stockholm and flew out of Sweden as planned.
Things started happening when I arrived to Copenhagen. We landed 10 minutes late and the docking just stop working so we were trapped inside the plane for a 15-20 minutes before they let us out the back door. Time window between landing and take off of my connecting flight to Bergen was 40 minutes and Copenhagen airport is not a small place! Luckily the transit gate was next to the one we landed.
Boarding my flight to Bergen, SAS decided to change my very good seat number 5A to 23A which is almost the last row on the plane! Luckily because it was so far back there was plenty of luggage room for my laptop suitcase and I didn't have to hand it over outside this very small plane.
As we approach Bergen, the captain informed us that we are expecting turbulence because of the bad weather (rain and storm). The plane was shaking a lot as we came closer to Bergen. It was foggy and we were loosing altitude . I could see trees, mountains and water getting bigger and closer but no airport or runway in sight! Luckily the pilot threw in all the power this little plane had. We reached the runway forcefully but safe and I'm still alive.
Waiting for my luggages (I had one carry on luggage and checked in two) at the arriving hall. The band stop and I'm still one luggage short. The luggage service informed me that my suitcase was left behind in Copenhagen and will probably be sent with the next flight. They would deliver it to my door later the same night. Travelling with 3 suitcases and only 2 hands I was worrying about how to get those hom from the airport as one of the suitcase was big and heavy! Luckily I went home with 2 small suitcases and in one of them there's ready-made-only-heat-up food. The suitcase which was left behind in Copenhagen was big, heavy and was not filled with food that could go bad after several more hours. At 9PM my big suitcase was delivered to my door. Saved me arms and back.
What a lucky day!
Christmas is far from over...
Today is the first day back at work after the holidays and this was waiting for me at the office.
Inside was a pair of warm slippers and a sheep fur blanket. My brother has got one, I tried it at his place during Christmas and New Year celebrating. It felt warm and soft and I was thinking maybe I should get one of that. I'm quite pleased with this years company Christmas gift but there's still one thing I never like and it's included in company Christmas gift every year, both in Sweden and here in Norway. It's this little or not so little Marsipan Pig. Eeewwww
It's tradition to eat at Christmas. A tradition I wish we should skip.
Tomorrow my box from Gmarket will arrive - wiiiihooo. More stuff to unwrap ^^
It's what on the outside that counts
Presentation plays a big part of the 'taste'. During these two holiday weeks I've had a lot of home made yummie dishes. Mom is really a good cook. What you've also noticed is that there aren't much pictures of those dishes on my blog.
That's because for my mom, it's the inside that counts. So although her foods are delicious, they don't look very appealing, at least not photogenic (if you can use that definition on food).
I like the Japanese food. Try watching Japanese food commercial and not drool. When it comes to how to present food, I believe the Japanese are the champions. But with eyes shutted, Korean foods are amazing.
